Founded In 2018 By A Father And Son Out To Share Their Love Of Sports And Collecting
Just another card breaker?
Hello, my name is Chris and I am the co-founder of Big Time Breaks. Big Time Breaks was founded by myself and my son Hayden. About a month ago, my son and I were going through some old cards that I had collected as a child. That night, we sat down to watch a few breaks. It was while watching these breaks that the idea for Hayden and I to start Big Time Breaks was formed. It is our goal, that Big Time Breaks captures the same joy and love for collecting, that Hayden and I experience every time we look at old cards or open new packs. We want you to enjoy the hobby and will do everything we can to ensure that you have a good time watching our breaks and videos.
A New Experience of Flavor
Coffee tastes have changed so much that I remember around 2012, introducing a much more acidic coffee into our blend thinking we were going to lead customers into a new experience of flavour, only to be dismayed on day one with customer’s dissatisfaction with a fruitier and more flavourful coffee. Coffee is after all the seed of a fruit. From then on, we began to work at a gradual pace, turning up the brightness a little, season after season. Today we can proudly craft a coffee with notes of lemon meringue, strawberry or passionfruit and find people on all sides of the counter are learning and developing their pallets.
How are we different?
As we sat there watching these breakers open card cases online, there was something missing. Everything seemed so sterile. The joy of opening the cards and enjoying them was missing. The anticipation and excitement of seeing the next card and determining whether or not it was a big name player or future rookie wasn't there. The fun had been sucked out of the videos. Breakers were arguing with their spouse while they opened cases. They were wearing surgical gloves as if they cared about touching the cards, all the while tossing around packs and boxes with a lack of respect for cards that didn't even belong to them. The breakers would fly through cards so quickly you couldn't see them in a slow-mo reply all in an order to turn a larger profit. We vow to be different.
All about community!
We decided from the beginning that it wasn't enough to break cases. We wanted to build a community around it. Our goal isn't to be the largest breaker. We don't care if we open more cases than our competitors. We aren't out to sell more cases than anyone else. If we do those things, then it will mean that we have succeeded at our goal of building a community of like minded people, wanting to share in their love of sports and collecting. Join our exclusive Facebook group today and be a part of the best breaking community there is!
