Moving on.

This years design absolutely destroys 2018’s design. The only thing saving 2018 Finest is the incredible rookie class. Aside from that, it is as BLAH of a design as you could ask for. 2019 Finest on the other hand looks like 2017 Finest on steroids.

“But wait! Stephen! The rookie class is terrible this year!”. Yea… No it’s not! Vladimir Guerrero, Eloy Jimenez and Fernando Tatis Jr are 3 players who have a shot of living up to the hype of last years TOP 3 in Acuna, Soto and Ohtani. Also, say Bye Bye to those crusty Mystery Redemptions and HELLO to the beautiful on card RC logo autos!

NOW…

Here is something you should know.

The following teams have NO Autographs! Zero, Ziltch!

  1. Boston Red Sox
  2. Pittsburgh Pirates
  3. Miami Marlins

The following teams have 1 Autograph

  1. Colorado Rockies (Todd Helton)
  2. Cincinatti Reds (Raisel Iglesias)

Something else you should know….

The New York Yankees Checklist is the best checklist I have seen from them in a very very long time.

1. New York Yankees

This is by far the cream of the crop, best of the best checklist. This checklist is light years ahead of the next best team.

This checklist is GROSS, DISGUSTING, NASTY (All good things).

Take a look below.

2. Los Angeles Angels

Mike Trout. Shohei Ohtani. That will basically land you in the Top 2 every single time.

3. Atlanta Braves

Chipper Jones, Hank Aaron, Ronald Acuna Jr. Ozzie Albies.

Is Acuna really the 3rd best player on the Braves checklist? Yikes. WATCH OUT!

4. Houston Astros

Bregman, Altuve, Springer, Tucker.

When has the Astros checklist been this strong? I can’t remember myself.

5. San Diego Padres

Fernando Tatis Jr., Luis Urias, Franmil Reyes.

OH YEA…. They also have some sick Anthony Rizzo and Ozzie Smith throwback autos on here too!

6. Toronto Blue Jays

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

This is going to be the card to own in 2019 Topps Finest. Plain and simple. You are going to want to be chasing this card on release day more than any other card.

TIER 2 (TOO STRONG TO CALL SLEEPERS)

  1. New York Mets

The New York Mets have ROY favorite Pete Alonso on their checklist and seem ripe for the picking. Add in the fact that they also have Jacob Degrom, Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil and you have yourself a very very tasty option.

2. Seattle Mariners

Did you know that Ichiro was on the Mariners checklist in yet another product this year? So is his Japanese counterpart Kikuchi! Two very strong options that will go along quite nicely with Mitch Haniger.

3. Chicago Cubs

Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo both show face on the cubs checklist this year!

4. Chicago White Sox

Eloy Jimenez, Michael Kopech and comeback player of the year Tim Anderson make for an enticing trio.

DIGGING A LITTLE BIT DEEPER!

  1. Washington Nationals

Not much to see here except for Juan Soto who is a STUD! SOTO or BUST!

2. Tampa Bay Rays

Reining AL Cy Young award winner Blake Snell, Jake Bauers, Brandon Lowe and Willy Adames. Nice young group of talent that makes perfect sense at the right price point.

3. Milwaukee Brewers

How can you not like the defending NL MVP? Christian Yelich? Yes Please.

FEELING LUCKY?

  1. Texas Rangers

Nolan Ryan is a man amongst boys on this checklist.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

Adrian Beltre can be found on the Dodgers Checklist.

3. Arizona Diamondbacks

Paul Goldschmidt or BUST!

AND THAT ABOUT DOES IT!
